2017 Hyundai Sonata vs 2017 Toyota Camry

Perhaps the steepest segment on the market, there are a number of midsize sedans available from an even larger number of manufacturers. While there are plenty of options to choose from, we obviously think there is one choice that stands out among the rest: the Sonata. We thought we’d show you why the Sonata makes such an excellent option, by comparing it to what is no doubt one of its biggest competitors. So with that in mind, we decided to pit the 2017 Hyundai Sonata vs 2017 Toyota Camry.

Advantages of the 2017 Hyundai Sonata

The table above shows just how close these two vehicles are to one another in terms of many of the most important specifications to consider when shopping for a new sedan like this one, yet even still the Hyundai Sonata edges out the Camry in every regard. To give you a better idea of what each field means, we thought we’d work our way right through the table. The first row shows that the Sonata can travel an extra two miles for every gallon of fuel, which means it will end up saving you a bit of cash each time you stop at the gas station. Yet even still, the Sonata also offers more power than the Camry in the way of 7 extra horsepower, which isn’t a ton but could be noticeable in a side-by-side comparison. Then we move onto space, which is obviously important in any type of vehicle. The Sonata’s trunk has nearly an extra cubic foot of space to fit whatever cargo you need to bring along, while the cabin offers an extra 4.1 cu. ft. of space for you and your passengers to stretch out and get comfortable in. In other words, while the advantages might be small, the 2017 Hyundai Sonata does trump the 2017 Toyota Camry in every aspect we looked at. So if you think a Sonata might be the right choice for you, be sure to schedule a test drive right here on our website.
