2018 Hyundai Accent vs 2018 Ford Fiesta

The 2018 model year saw an all-new Hyundai Accent introduced, and we couldn’t be more pleased with the finished product. With a new design and a host of improved specs & features, the new Accent has become an even greater force to be reckoned with in the subcompact sedan segment. Speaking of which, we thought we’d see how it measures up in said segment by pitting it against one of its biggest competitors, so we compared the 2018 Hyundai Accent vs 2018 Ford Fiesta. As you can see with one glance at the table below, the two small sedans are quite comparable to one another, but it’s clear which one has the obvious advantages. Unfortunately for the Fiesta, it can’t seem to get a leg up on the Accent, but we’ll go through row by row to give you a greater sense of how they compare to one another.

Advantages of the 2018 Accent

Horsepower is an important specification to look at regardless of what segment you’re considering. Generally speaking, the more powerful a vehicle is, the more enjoyable your time on the road will be. So even an advantage of just 10 horsepower becomes a pretty big deal. That advantage is made even more meaningful if fuel efficiency doesn’t suffer because of it, which is the case here considering the Accent also get an extra mile to the gallon. The third and fourth rows don’t get any better for the Ford Fiesta, as you already know. The third row looks at cargo capacity, which again is an important one unless for some reason you never plan to utilize your new sedan’s trunk. An extra 0.9 cubic feet might not sound like much, but it will seem like a whole lot when you’re trying to shove luggage into it. The fourth row is the Fiesta’s only reprieve, as it manages to tie with the Accent at seating for 5. Unfortunately for it, in our opinion one tie and three losses makes the choice pretty obvious.
