2018 Hyundai Accent vs 2018 Honda Fit

For the 2018 model year, the Hyundai Accent was completely redesigned and thrust into its fifth generation since being introduced back in 1994. The subcompact sedan is more stylish and sophisticated than ever before but is also packed with a host of outstanding technologies and features. We thought we’d see how the sedan measures up to one of its biggest rivals in the subcompact sedan segment, by comparing the 2018 Hyundai Accent vs 2018 Honda Fit. Although the Honda Fit is a hatchback sedan, it is still one of the fiercest competitors the Accent has to face considering their similar size. While the Fit certainly offers more space for cargo, we’ve analyzed several other important specifications that you should consider when shopping for a sedan. You can see them in the table below, and read on to hear more details about the similarities and differences between these two sedans.

Advantages of the 2018 Accent

As you can see with one glance at the table above, despite the capacity differences, these two subcompact sedans are nearly identical. The first row depicts horsepower, where the Accent and Fit are perfectly matched at 130 horsepower. The Accent is slightly more powerful than the Honda Fit, however, as the second row shows it offers 5 extra pound-feet of torque. The final two rows of the table look at fuel efficiency, undoubtedly one of the most important aspects of any vehicle, yet once again these sedans are extremely comparable. The Hyundai Accent gives up a mile per gallon through the city but gets an extra mile per gallon on the highway, so it’s really a toss-up.
