2018 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport vs 2018 Honda CR-V

While the 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport is a fairly new vehicle, it was born with predisposed segment rivals that made great competitors right out of the gate. We thought we’d take a look at the Santa Fe Sport in comparison to one of the fiercest of these rivals, the 2018 Honda CR-V. These two crossovers are extremely comparable to one another, which you can see quite obviously with one glance at the table below. We’ve analyzed a few of the key specifications to consider in this battle and compiled them into said table, but below that, we’ll analyze it in a bit more detail to really show you the similarities, differences, and advantages between each vehicle.

Advantages of the 2018 Santa Fe Sport

As we said, these two crossovers are quite comparable and similar to one another, which the first row depicts quite well. The Santa Fe Sport has an advantage in power, but only by one horsepower, which would hardly ever be noticeable. However, in the second row, the Honda CR-V pulls into the lead with a pretty sizeable advantage in one of the most important aspects of any vehicle – combined fuel efficiency, of which it offers an extra 4 miles to the gallon. However, the Hyundai Santa Fe Sport has a larger fuel tank, offering an extra 3.4 gallons of fuel per fill up. The Honda CR-V might save you a bit of change at the pump, but the Santa Fe Sport means fewer stops on those long-distance road trips and more time between fill-ups during the week. The final row just shows another similarity between the two compact crossovers, in that they both offer seating for 5 passengers.
