We were stoked for the debut of the brand-new 2020 Hyundai Venue in Cocoa FL back at the 2019 New York International Auto Show, as it represented one of if not the last of the long string of new crossover utility vehicles that Hyundai promised us. This mini crossover is the smallest utility vehicle on the Hyundai lineup, but it comes with a big personality and has plenty to offer all sorts of drivers. As long as you don’t need a ton of space for cargo, like larger utility vehicles offer, then the Venue will likely be a great option for you.
Back in 2017, Hyundai promised to release eight new or re-engineered crossovers by 2020. The first was the Hyundai Kona and they alluded to several of the models by calling out an Electric, a Diesel, a Fuel Cell, and Midsize CUV and an A-Segment CUV. The Kona Electric, Santa Fe Diesel, NEXO and Palisade represent those first four, while the Venue represents the last one. One of the other two options was the redesigned Hyundai Santa Fe and we assume the eighth model was the facelifted Tucson, but there’s a chance they might surprise us with something else as a facelift isn’t a real re-engineering.
There’s far too much information to cover in a couple paragraphs when a brand-new vehicle is introduced, so we’re just going to go over some of the mini crossover’s highlights. However, you can find all sorts of detailed information on our blog. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, keep checking back as we’ll probably get to it eventually, otherwise you can always feel free to reach out with any specific questions.
One of the really cool aspects of the Venue’s design is that it will be offered with several two-tone color options, in which a majority of the vehicle will be one color but things like the roof, mirrors and trim will adopt a secondary color. The Venue’s powertrain is a new Smartstream 1.6L engine tethered to either a 6-speed manual or Smartstream Intelligent Variable Transmission. The Venue will also come packed full of great technology like a premium display audio system and a host of advanced driver-assistive safety features.
